You're the light powerful enough to pull me out of the depths of all the dark.

He tried to open his eyes but his eyelids felt as if they were sealed . The atmosphere around him was unusual. His head was heavy and throbbing pain was breaking his skull. The kind of pain that he was unaware of, his brain could barely translate this stimulation as pain.
He tried to move and get up but his limbs had probably lost the ability to react.

Everything around him was getting darker and darker. He was drowning into the depths, drowning into the vastness of nothingness. He was looking for something to hold in order to support his falling body. He tried to find a hand that would pull him out of this dark loneliness. All alone there he was losing his mind in the silence of his grieving soul.
A part of his brain that was responsible for controlling his memories, perhaps, lost control. He began to see what would have been the last thing he'd want right now.

A little boy running and giggling "stop trying, you can never catch me" he says in between his heavy breaths. "Oh! You’re exceptionally fast but I will catch you for sure" his mom replies while running behind him at a fairly slower pace, pretending she’s unable to reach him. He giggles and she smiles.

A young boy just came back from school, he placed his bag on one of the chairs in the living room. "I’m going to the shop, momma! Don’t prepare lunch for me" he says and leaves the house. Mother tried to stop him for lunch but he had to go.

"Why are you already here at the shop?" Father asked him but he only smiled and said nothing. He was too excited to start working with his uncle. "I’ve set a meeting with your uncle at his shop, you can go there and start working afterwards." Father told him and he took his blessings before leaving for the next task.
He used all the force in his hands to hit the already heated up iron with a hammer.
His hands were blistered and burned. The hands of a young teenage boy who had just learned this hard labour were badly hurt. But he had to keep going even if his hands lost all the softness and gentleness.

She was a new student in this college where he met her. When he first saw her she was smiling, looking at those kids playing. Her smile started from her lips and made her eyes shine. It was perfect. Could something be anymore mesmerizing? Had he ever noticed these subtle details about someone? His eyes saw her and an image was drawn on his heart. To stay there forever.

"I'm asking you one last time if you're going to help me or not?" She was irritated to the point where she was almost about to cry. Just when he saw her expressions, he stopped teasing her and began to help her solve the math problems that have been troubling her all this time.
They are best friends, always together. He helps her with the studies and she makes his heart happy. The heart that has one picture crafted on forever and ever, her picture but does she know? Will she ever know this little secret between them?
He tried to touch her face but she faded away. She was long gone.

He was surrounded by darkness all over again. "No! I can’t let this happen, I can’t be lost into this nothingness without seeing her the last time as I promised." His heart was now taking control. He needed to help himself before it was too late.
"It’s all a dream, I must wake up." He began to fight with the darkness inside him. He continued to struggle until he could feel his consciousness slowly taking control.
The temperature around him was warm again. He could hear his own heartbeat. He stayed in this position for a while before trying to open his eyes again. He slowly opened his eyes and tried to look around. His brain took a good while to finally understand and respond to the current situation he was in.
It was a cold room, walls colored in white and a window with blinds on. Next to him was an empty bed. He was the only person in the room. He tried to lift his arms but there were drips attached to both of his hands.
He tried to touch his face with his hands to recognize himself. His head was wrapped in bandages just like the rest of his body. He assumed that this place was some hospital as there were machines to monitor the patients and other equipment he couldn’t recognize.
But why was he here? "Oh! You’re awake." While he was questioning himself, he heard the door open and saw a girl dressed as a nurse walk in. She sure was happy to see the patient finally woke up after all.
He kept on staring at the walls whereas the nurse was now busy examining his vitals.
"Everything looks fine. You will recover soon and I’ll now report to the doctor so he can visit you." She said with a gentle expression on her face.
What am I doing here? The last thing I remember is that I was in my car, going back home to see my parents. How did I end up here? The nurse could finally hear his voice but she couldn’t tell if he was asking her or just talking to himself.
She went near his bed and told him " Unfortunately your car crashed, we found you in such a bad condition that we had no hope for you. But you survived and it’s no less than a miracle. Also we couldn’t reach out to your family because your phone was also destroyed and there were no other sources to contact them. I’m sure no one knows that you have been in the hospital for the last three days."
She closed the door behind her, leaving him once again trapped in the vastness of loneliness wondering if he could ever get out of here.
" Was that really just a dream or have I completely drowned into the depths of unending darkness?"
